Beware of cheap underperforming clones

As of 2022 there are many badly performing clones on the market. V2/3GHz NanoVNA uses parts like ADF4350 and AD8342 which are costly and clones have been cutting costs by using salvaged or reject parts.

See official store and look for V2 Plus4/V2 Plus4 Pro versions only to avoid getting a bad clone. We have stopped selling V2.2 versions since October 2020, so all V2 hardware that are not Plus or Plus4 are not made by us and we can not guarantee performance.

What is expected error/tolerance in coils

Leif M 2022/09/06 05:50

I made a simple fixture for low frequency measurements and calibrated it from 50k to 10MHz. A variable capacitor shows reasonable reading, about 20pF to 500pF. But when I measured an old unshielded 143-17J12 Coilcraft coil, I got 1.7uH from 50kHz to 10MHz.. But Coilcraft says it is 1.34uH. There is a ferrite slug in this coil, but it is noted in Coilcraft table. I begin to suspect that this is normal 15% error.

Look it up, but I believe Coilcraft (not my favorite supplier) specifies
20% error on inductors of that sort.

True. Value look like to be reasonably close. I have two old coil kits from Coilcraft, so these coils are easy to find.

Hello everybody
Please I'm asking for help!
My Nano VNA is not working as usual. When I turn it on the S11 is dropping
to -30 dB without connecting anything. I just turn on the nano VNA and I
can see that on the screen :/ I tried to calibrate but it seems that it
doesn't work since the value is wrong (-30 dB) I see a sinusoidal signal..
(I have connected short and then load to port1 and I did the same with port
2 but there is nothing.. only this sinusoidal signal appearing..) Why is it
showing this value?? How can I set it to 0 dB to work normally??
Thanks in advance guys!
Nizar

You will get better results if you open an own discussion about the problem. I wonder do you yourself see this, wrong place probably?
