Beware of cheap underperforming clones

As of 2022 there are many badly performing clones on the market. V2/3GHz NanoVNA uses parts like ADF4350 and AD8342 which are costly and clones have been cutting costs by using salvaged or reject parts.

See official store and look for V2 Plus4/V2 Plus4 Pro versions only to avoid getting a bad clone. We have stopped selling V2.2 versions since October 2020, so all V2 hardware that are not Plus or Plus4 are not made by us and we can not guarantee performance.

Nanovna v2 s-a-a-2 recognized by pc-usb as optical mouse most of the time, not /dev/ttyACM0 or the like (linux, same problem on windows)

Hi,
either switching first nanovna v2 s-a-a-2 and thereafter connect to pc, or viceversa, COM port does not appear on PC (/dev/ttyACM0) on linux.
This is what I see on linux most of the time:

I changed usb cable (again) and now it works, both on Win 10 and Linux.

I do not understand why suddenly usb cable do not work anymore (it happened me a few times in the past).
All connections seem ok.

So, .... problem seems to be solved ...hopefully.
PS:
I own a "Zeenko" bought from Amazon, I have yet to understand if it is a clone or not, because this seller is "banned" as not-authorized NovaVNA V2 maker in the NanoVna site, but everything seems to work, up to now ...

Moreover ...,
Do You know if s-a-a-2 V2 hw (2.8 inch sceen) can load the latest sw for "Plus" version with bigger touch screen ?
(I loaded 20201013 firmware, that looks like to be the latest (see site) for this hw .... not very sure... indeed....)

you have to use a fw for the small screen

the saa2 is a nanovna v2 ... nothing special (no plus!!)

so any fw for v2 should run on the saa2 if it is made for the 2.8 inch
screen
