Beware of cheap underperforming clones

As of 2022 there are many badly performing clones on the market. V2/3GHz NanoVNA uses parts like ADF4350 and AD8342 which are costly and clones have been cutting costs by using salvaged or reject parts.

See official store and look for V2 Plus4/V2 Plus4 Pro versions only to avoid getting a bad clone. We have stopped selling V2.2 versions since October 2020, so all V2 hardware that are not Plus or Plus4 are not made by us and we can not guarantee performance.

Import duties when ordering from Tindie shipping to USA?

Brian 2022/09/03 13:54

If I order the latest VNA from Tindie at $199, shipping to USA, should I expect to pay duties, customs broker fees, etc.?  If so, how much?  THANKS!

I paid nothing more than the sale price I was charged when purchasing the V2Plus4 from the Tindie site last year..  I was not hit with any unexpected or undefined fees.

I didn't pay any other fees just the cost of the VNA this was in april.

Same as Michael, no fees or duties.  I bought mine about 6 weeks ago.

I opted for the $26(?) FedEx shipping.  The unit arrived quickly after Tindie shipped.  They shipped about 5 days after order & FedEx delivered about 5 days after that; tracking shows that it spent a day in Customs.

My latest Tindie order came with customs declaration form which greatly understated true value. Although you save 10%, why do you want to do business with people with no ethics.

I bought one a few months ago and paid no import duty or fees. Good deal.

I understood for a Chinese vendor many years ago that the standard post does

no accept item over a few $$ in value. The undervaluation is for their
system.

Ah, I thought it was simply using the true value or production cost of the
item, rather than the selling price!

Certainly a couple of items I bought from AliExpress were priced as you say.
