Beware of cheap underperforming clones

As of 2023 there are many badly performing clones on the market. V2/3GHz NanoVNA uses parts like ADF4350 and AD8342 which are costly and clones have been cutting costs by using salvaged or reject parts.

See official store and look for V2 Plus4/V2 Plus4 Pro versions only to avoid getting a bad clone. We have stopped selling V2.2 versions since October 2020, so all V2 hardware that are not Plus or Plus4 are not made by us and we can not guarantee performance.

INFORMATION about Japanese-origin Hacker Software for NANOVNA V2 PLUS4 for measuring quartz and quartz filters

Loris Bollina 2025/08/30 07:25

Hello everyone, I own a NANOVNA V2 plus4 purchased from the official website, and as reported there, it doesn't measure crystals and tends to have problems measuring narrow-band crystal filters (SSB and CW).
I found this software online that should solve the problem:
v2plus4-ojisankoubou.bin.
It's available on the developer's Japanese website:
https://ojisankoubou.web.fc2.com/index.html
and also in this group:
https://groups.io/g/NanoVNAV2/topic/v2_plus4_ojisankoubou/83997806.
QUESTIONS:
Has anyone tried it?
Is it reliable?
Do you think it can charge without problems, or do you not recommend it?

Hello,

If you read carefully it is clear that it is for a NanoVNA v2 SAA2 clone.

I am sure it will brick firmware!

I wouldn't risk it on a 100% original from Tindie!
(I have a NanoVNA V2 plus 4 and an older compatible clone of course not
compareable to original - which has much better response above 2GHz))

Hello all,

I have a NanoVNA v2 Plus 4 Pro from Tindie and an older NanoVNA 2.2  100% compatible Clone for comparison purposes. (Of course Tindy Original response is much better on original then on clone!)

I would not risk it to use different firmware - even if some people got it working on originals !

If you read carefully this firmware were originally developed for a NanoVNA v2 Saa2 clone!

Chances are definitely higher to brick it, than with original firmware !

Thanks for the reply... OK... as soon as I can, I'll buy a PLUS 5 and put the PLUS 4 up for sale!
Best regards

According to this post , and attachment

OwO adapted the "japanese" fw to run on a V2 Plus4.
The  V2 Plus4  firmware is attached to OwO's message
