Beware of cheap underperforming clones

As of 2022 there are many badly performing clones on the market. V2/3GHz NanoVNA uses parts like ADF4350 and AD8342 which are costly and clones have been cutting costs by using salvaged or reject parts.

See official store and look for V2 Plus4/V2 Plus4 Pro versions only to avoid getting a bad clone. We have stopped selling V2.2 versions since October 2020, so all V2 hardware that are not Plus or Plus4 are not made by us and we can not guarantee performance.

Australian Import Costs

Brian McDonald 2022/07/30 01:58

Looking for information from anyone who has imported to Australia the nanovna v2 plus4 from Tindie - specifically are there any extra costs (Fedex) on top of postage listed on the Tindie website

Note that you will need to source the battery locally. They cannot ship
with lithium battery. The battery type is commonly used in vape kits.

Hi Brian,

None for mine.

I ordered the NanoV2+4 plus cables and cal kit with TNT shipping (
$214.43 USD back in September 2021 ) and it came straight through with
no issues.

cheers

Tim

And to put a type to that battery it is an 18650 Li-ion.

For Aussies you can get them at Jaycar.

cheers

Thanks Bob/Tim

I was aware of the battery issue and it needs to be the non-protected type to fit

Wait and see now - hopefully no surprises

On the US, there is a controversy regarding the 18650 type number. If you
buy a 18650 at Batteries Plus, it will not fit. The only ones they sell
include built in protection circuitry so it’s too long. The NanoVNA PLUS
4 has the protection on board and need a shorter cell.

Hi Bob,

Yep, seen those. Our Jaycar has both types and has them clearly
identified as a "Protected Battery"...

The protection pcb can normally be removed from the 18650 if that’s all you can get.
