Beware of cheap underperforming clones

As of 2023 there are many badly performing clones on the market. V2/3GHz NanoVNA uses parts like ADF4350 and AD8342 which are costly and clones have been cutting costs by using salvaged or reject parts.

See official store and look for V2 Plus4/V2 Plus4 Pro versions only to avoid getting a bad clone. We have stopped selling V2.2 versions since October 2020, so all V2 hardware that are not Plus or Plus4 are not made by us and we can not guarantee performance.

Alternative Calibration Kit

Any recommendations on what standards to order for calibration?  The kit linked from the website shows as out of stock.

Depending on your frequency requirements, there are a number of online
"recipes" on how to make your own calibration standards. I'd do a www
search for that if you are so inclined.

NanoVNA V2 and VNA6000 from NanoRFE come with a cal-kit.

If you need another then the choice may pivot on your use-case.
For Low Band and HF uses you may well be able to get away with one of the
`silly-cheap` options available via eBay or AliExpress.
Otherwise, for GHz ranges, you may wish to expend more effort and you are
limited only by your budget. Even for non-traceable parts you can pay
(well) over the price of the instrument itself for a SOLT kit. And then
there's the phase-matched cables... And the female kit...

In the end none of it is definitive; there are margins of error, even with
`Pro` equipment.

If you need a traceable set of standards (I do work for clients) I can recommend Kirkby Microwave: https://www.kirkbymicrowave.co.uk/
He will also recertify/recharacterize standards.
They are not cheap but almost an order of magnitude cheaper than Keysight, etc. kits.

I have also seen some kits from Asia on EBay but their traceability and characterization are questionable IMO.
