Beware of cheap underperforming clones

As of 2022 there are many badly performing clones on the market. V2/3GHz NanoVNA uses parts like ADF4350 and AD8342 which are costly and clones have been cutting costs by using salvaged or reject parts.

See official store and look for V2 Plus4/V2 Plus4 Pro versions only to avoid getting a bad clone. We have stopped selling V2.2 versions since October 2020, so all V2 hardware that are not Plus or Plus4 are not made by us and we can not guarantee performance.

USB leads - COM Port issue

Dom Baines M1KTA 2021/01/17 11:05

This maybe obvious to some but not all... not sure in the FAQ either.

Watch out anyone using these with their normal mobile phone charging USB leads, or those USB battery backup pack leads they are not all compatible if trying to use the PC software too.
Spent a while on exchanges trying to figure out why someone's wasn't working with Nano saver or QT software (luckily they had sent me their USB leads etc as well).
Curious so I plugged it in, sure enough it had power and worked but the COM port was not detected so I swapped with known good USB leads that do data AND power and voila COM port detected, device detected and software works.
A quick amazon order to obtain some braided leads (agreed not always the cheapest) and the correct leads going back.

Had the same issue with my supplied usb cord. Can you recommend a specific cord that DOES work.
