Hello to the group,
Decided I wanted to control my NanoVNA V2 Plus4 (running FW ver 20220184) so I downloaded NanoVNA-QT and the Cypress installer. Ran the installer with the device disconnected. Plugged in the USB cable and powered up the device.
I get a warning that the device isn't recognized and when going into the device manager I see that the device descriptor failed. Installation here is a Dell laptop running latest win 11 patches and updates as of 7/7/24.
I've Googled extensively, gone to the Cypress (Now Infineon) site and downloaded the latest drivers. No luck.
Has anybody here encoutered the same issue and if so were you able to resolve it. If so, what steps did you take to do so?
Thanks,
Chris
Beware of cheap underperforming clones
As of 2023 there are many badly performing clones on the market. V2/3GHz NanoVNA uses parts like ADF4350 and AD8342 which are costly and clones have been cutting costs by using salvaged or reject parts.
See official store and look for V2 Plus4/V2 Plus4 Pro versions only to avoid getting a bad clone. We have stopped selling V2.2 versions since October 2020, so all V2 hardware that are not Plus or Plus4 are not made by us and we can not guarantee performance.

USB Device Connection Failure
Hi Chris,
This thread suggests you don't need the Cypress/Infineon driver for the NanoVNA v2 plus 4 with firmware version 20220814 and a recent version of Windows.

I just tried it myself with Windows 11 and v1.1 of NanoVNA-QT from nanorfe.com. NanoVNA-QT successfully connected and displayed data using only the driver automatically provided by Microsoft with no additional steps. As discussed in the thread above, if the assigned COM port is too high, you may have to rename it. I did not need to do this since it happened to be assigned as COM4.
NanoRFEsupport, can you remove the "Download drivers" section of the website (or if it's still needed in some cases specify those)? Adding the information about renaming the COM port or modifying NanoVNA-QT so that's no longer necessary would also be very valuable.
Regards,
Kevin
Try downgrading the driver to “default” driver. I have had problems with win 10 changing “stuff” on updates and things that work, don’t anymore. I pick the generic driver, and it works. Not using win 11 at all
Good Luck
Hi, thanks for the feedback, we have updated the website to clarify that the cypress driver should not be installed on Windows 11 and later.
Thanks,
NanoRFE Support
