Beware of cheap underperforming clones

As of 2022 there are many badly performing clones on the market. V2/3GHz NanoVNA uses parts like ADF4350 and AD8342 which are costly and clones have been cutting costs by using salvaged or reject parts.

See official store and look for V2 Plus4/V2 Plus4 Pro versions only to avoid getting a bad clone. We have stopped selling V2.2 versions since October 2020, so all V2 hardware that are not Plus or Plus4 are not made by us and we can not guarantee performance.

Stable FW version 20211227 does not work at all with NanoVNA V2 Plus4 Pro hardware!

Hi all,

Here is my problem: i am trying to measure a 2.4 GHz antenna to validate the quality of NanoVNA V2 Plus4 Pro hardware and it seems not to work at all with FW  20211227 (stable)

Measurement setup:

Calibration Port1 : 2GHz to 3GHz

This is the result I get....definetely not working!

If Ithen flash FW 20220301 ( experimental ( https://nanorfe.com/downloads/20220301/nanovna-v2-20220301-v2plus45.bin ) ) version, it looks good (see below), but in this case, nanovna-saver ver 3.10 is not working.

Could someone help?

In both FW case, the use of vna_qt_windows is really painful and not user-friendly!
The GUI of Libre VNA looks a way better, could this be maybe inspiring?

Can someone on your side test if FW version 20211227 is working on NanoVNA V2 *Plus4 Pro* hardware ?

On my side, it works only if I flash version FW 20220301 ( experimental ( https://nanorfe.com/downloads/20220301/nanovna-v2-20220301-v2plus45.bin ) )...
But then I am not able to see my VNA with Nanovna-saver version 3.10....

Generally speaking, the GUI software experience is not really great unfortunately....any chance that you could got inspired by LibreVNA GUI interface? ;O)

Version: 20211227 working well on NanoVNA V2Plus4, post your set up and all steps for comparing...
