Beware of cheap underperforming clones

As of 2022 there are many badly performing clones on the market. V2/3GHz NanoVNA uses parts like ADF4350 and AD8342 which are costly and clones have been cutting costs by using salvaged or reject parts.

See official store and look for V2 Plus4/V2 Plus4 Pro versions only to avoid getting a bad clone. We have stopped selling V2.2 versions since October 2020, so all V2 hardware that are not Plus or Plus4 are not made by us and we can not guarantee performance.

Shack W PC Com port Saver problems #nanovna-saver #nanovna-saver

John 2020/10/03 11:13

I have moved my S-AA V2 down to the shack.
I installed CypressDriver and did a system restart.
I connected SAA and turned on and Device Manager reports a new "USB to UART Adapter"
with the Cypress driver, Location "Port_#0001.Hub_#005"
But no new COM port shows.
I always have COM1 physical port I use with K2
I have virtual pairs 7-17, 8-18, and inverse.
but nothing came up when SAA activated.
VNA-QT only lists Com1 and Saver shows no COM ports.
When I read the Events | Information of the SUB to UART Cypress driver Properties
I see "Device USB\VID_04B4&PID_0008\DEMO requires further installation".
I then select "View all Events" I am taken to Windows Event Viewer
Showing "Driver Management has concluded the process to add Service CypressSerial for Device Instance ID USB\VID_04B4&PID_0008\DEMO with the following status: 0.".

I am at Wits End!

FOUND the FIX!
When the USB adapter was started Windows was building an "Unknown device" in the Device Manager list. I did not see this the first 5 times
I turned on SAA. When I selected this Unknown device and updated driver.
Cypress was installed and now
ALL IS WELL.
Now to install the update firmware.
