Beware of cheap underperforming clones

As of 2023 there are many badly performing clones on the market. V2/3GHz NanoVNA uses parts like ADF4350 and AD8342 which are costly and clones have been cutting costs by using salvaged or reject parts.

See official store and look for V2 Plus4/V2 Plus4 Pro versions only to avoid getting a bad clone. We have stopped selling V2.2 versions since October 2020, so all V2 hardware that are not Plus or Plus4 are not made by us and we can not guarantee performance.

Plus4 Pro DOA

rimantas.balciunas+n 2023/06/21 15:21

Hi all,

I just received my Plus4 Pro in the mail.  I'm excited to put it to use.  When I plug it in and turn it on, however, all I get is a rapidly flickering screen, like a strobe light.  There doesn't seem to be any obvious damage to the VNA or the box that it came in.  Is it possible that this is a known issue that I can troubleshoot?

Thanks,
Rimantas

Hi, this usually means it's not getting enough current from the USB port, can you try plugging it into a USB charger or power bank?

It turns out that it was the USB cable's fault.  I wasn't initially using the cable that came with the unit because it was too short, and the one I used instead must have been low quality.  Using the original cable fixed the issue.

Thanks for the help!

Or put a charged battery into it.
