Beware of cheap underperforming clones

As of 2022 there are many badly performing clones on the market. V2/3GHz NanoVNA uses parts like ADF4350 and AD8342 which are costly and clones have been cutting costs by using salvaged or reject parts.

See official store and look for V2 Plus4/V2 Plus4 Pro versions only to avoid getting a bad clone. We have stopped selling V2.2 versions since October 2020, so all V2 hardware that are not Plus or Plus4 are not made by us and we can not guarantee performance.

Just got a NanoVNA V2 from Tindle.  Now I just need to learn how to use it.  I have never used a VNA before.  I'm interested learning how to use it for common mode coax chokes.

Look in youtube.

. A lot if good videos can be found there..

Excellent choice, the V2. I would start experimenting with basic stuff
to get used to to VNA measurements and see the effects of resistors,
capacitors and inductors, cables, antennas, hand effect on antennas. The
most important thing to learn is to  get a feeling of trust of the
measurement. A VNA will always show something, but if you make a mistake
in calibration or have a imperfect RF adapter, you must be able to sense
that. If you think you know the basics, try 1 GHz and see how 1 mm
longer wire will change the results.
Second most import, learn how to interpret the Smith chart. Way more
important than swr.

Enjoy your journey!

b4 you start experimenting with DUTs, I would suggest learning HOW to use it. At least, that is what I had to do. While I did that I wrote a MISSING MANUAL. Though it is specifically for a V2.4, it may help. It is in the files section. Feel free to correct it or add specifics for your V2. If you send them to me I will update it.
