I got my NanoVNA V2 Plus4 around one year ago from tindie, so it's not a clone.
>From the beginning it came up most time with a white screen, but not always.
Then I didn't try it for about one year.
Some weeks ago, I was able to use it for some days, just after removing the USB cable after charging.
I was able to make a firmware update to version 20211227 (stable).
One time, the device came up with a 90° display rotation, after a reboot it was normal. 0° and 180° are good, but 90° should not happen
Some days later the white screen returned, and is now permanent.
I can use it via USB with vna_qt.exe and it works well.
Today I tried to analyze the display interface (CONN303) to make sure, that only the display is broken:
* There's activity on the SCK pin (8), but the signal level is between ~1.5 and 3.0V, it doesn't go down to ground, is that correct ?
* There's activity on the SDI pin (9), that signal looks like the controller is sending data to the display. I've attached some screenshots
* My probes are probably to slow to measure the fast signals exactly
Can somebody help me please. I hope that only the display is broken.
I found one at AliExpress https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002630985118.html which looks same.
Can I order it and insert it or do I need a preconfigured display from Tindie ?
Beware of cheap underperforming clones
As of 2022 there are many badly performing clones on the market. V2/3GHz NanoVNA uses parts like ADF4350 and AD8342 which are costly and clones have been cutting costs by using salvaged or reject parts.
See official store and look for V2 Plus4/V2 Plus4 Pro versions only to avoid getting a bad clone. We have stopped selling V2.2 versions since October 2020, so all V2 hardware that are not Plus or Plus4 are not made by us and we can not guarantee performance.
