Beware of cheap underperforming clones

As of 2022 there are many badly performing clones on the market. V2/3GHz NanoVNA uses parts like ADF4350 and AD8342 which are costly and clones have been cutting costs by using salvaged or reject parts.

See official store and look for V2 Plus4/V2 Plus4 Pro versions only to avoid getting a bad clone. We have stopped selling V2.2 versions since October 2020, so all V2 hardware that are not Plus or Plus4 are not made by us and we can not guarantee performance.

My test with a different standard OPEN.

My test with a different standard OPEN.

That grouping in the center is pretty spread. You should be able to get
almost a dot in the center, once calibrated, with the 50-ohm load on Ch 00,
the source port.

Something is incorrect with the 0 ohm. (short). this is displaying as a <
not very good> 50 ohm load. On a Smith Chart, the center of the arcs is 50
ohm. Please turn off the other 3 traces, because the screen is to busy : 1
SWR 3 LOG MAG 4 PHASE. To CAL, only use one trace set to Smith. Then, it
should be less confusing.
Q: are these the CAL elements that came with the nanoVNA? Or are these
Home-Made DIY CAL elements?

My NanoVNA V2 works really well.
No problem.

Hello,

I just received my nanovna v2 plus4 from Tindie.
I ordered and payed for it on February 06, today is 7 days later.
I guess it was shipped with 🚀 to Austria. The cost was 158$ all in all.

It came without a battery wich I already had bought locally, I installed it and connected the unit to a charger, I turned the unit on and it came to life.
After checking all functionalities and calibrating a lot I found NO errors or discrepancies.

Played around with it up to 4.4GHz and am a happy customer, I am equipped with a few other VNWAs like the nanovna-f, the DG8SAQ vna3 and one Anritsu professional VNWA that has everything but portability, thanks for the great service Tindie.

I was testing a sma terminator rated to 18ghz (hoping it might be a good cal standard at least up to 4ghz) on my v2N, via a N to sma adapter. The screen was behaving strangely, and also with other sma cal standards too.

It turned out that the N to sma adapter had a short within it, and not a very good one at that.

You cannot necessarily trust anything.

And Tindie out of stock too. Sigh . . .

Thank you, I have. I think they also said they will not send to the
United States.

Sorry about the out of stock situation, the LCD displays were on
allotment and last time could only get a batch of 500, but it should be
resolved soon. NanoRFE Aliexpress store ships worldwide and there is
also UPS shipping to the US, and Tindie store has TNT shipping to EU.

Teton Amateur Radio 2021/04/13 11:07

Thank you for the update. I am ready now so I can jump fast the next
time that Aliexpress has some. I have some duplexers to finish tuning
and look forward to giving it a try.
