Hi! I'm interested in buying a NanoVNA V2 Plus4. I'd buy it from Tindie but it's out of stock there.
There's an Amazon store called Aursinc that's selling it ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09FPNR9J3/ ). The original NanoVNA lists them as an authorized reseller ( https://nanovna.com/?page_id=121 ), but are they also selling authentic NanoRFE hardware?
Thanks!

Beware of cheap underperforming clones
As of 2023 there are many badly performing clones on the market. V2/3GHz NanoVNA uses parts like ADF4350 and AD8342 which are costly and clones have been cutting costs by using salvaged or reject parts.
See official store and look for V2 Plus4/V2 Plus4 Pro versions only to avoid getting a bad clone. We have stopped selling V2.2 versions since October 2020, so all V2 hardware that are not Plus or Plus4 are not made by us and we can not guarantee performance.

Is AURSINC selling authentic V2 Plus4 hardware? #clones
Hi, only the V2 Plus4 option on that listing is genuine, everything else in that store are clones, which is why we don't advise people to buy from Amazon.
Please be aware that nanovna .com is not owned by the original developers or either V1 or V2 NanoVNA, and all products linked from that site are clones. The V1 NanoVNA developer, edy555, only sells his products on Switch Science.
Thanks
Seems also to be unavailable on amazon.
Hi, our official Tindie store will reopen by the end of this month, you can add your email to the waitlist here to be notified when we reopen:

Thanks
Thanks very much for the feedback. I just didn't realize nanovna .com itself is a clone site! I went ahead and bought the Plus4 which hopefully is authentic at your advice.
It still shows 9 in stock for me at the URL in my message above.

@nanov2support does it still stand that the Amazon Aursinc V2 Plus4 is not a clone? I should clarify......I know to purchase one, now, from your store. The V2+4 was put on a Xmas list and knowing my wife, she went to Amazon and found one at that link.
Plus one for confirmation that the AURSINC NanoVNA V2 Plus 4 are authentic units.
Email sent to OWO with a serial number, awaiting a reply.
Thanks in advance.
Hi, please email me at edelswartz123 at gmail.com and I can check the serial number for you, as OwO no longer checks their email.

Can I send you the s/n of the SAA-2N to see if it is legit too? Not knowing enough about them at the time, I ordered a SAA-2N on Amazon from AURSINC. It will be here today. I am waffling about returning it and saving for your official one or just biting the bullet and learning on the SAA-2N and get good enough to then purchase one from NanoRFE.
Regards.
Hi Butchie,
Unfortunately that version is a clone, please be aware that the Amazon listing sells clones together with original versions which misleads many customers, which is why we don't recommend buying from Amazon. Only the V2 Plus4 version on that listing is original.
If you are on a budget and find the V2 Plus4 too expensive, we recommend to avoid V2/S-A-A-2 based models (all versions advertising 3GHz or higher capability) and go for V1 versions like the NanoVNA-F instead, as the V2 design requires factory tuning and original RFICs to achieve good performance, which are not well replicated in the clones. We found many S-A-A-2 based VNAs advertising higher specifications to perform worse than V1 version that advertise only up to 1.5GHz.
Thanks

Thank you for your reply. Based on that, I will just send it back to Amazon and get a refund on it.
