I pulled it off my desk via the charging cable. Not really a hard drop but onto a wood floor. It flickered with a bright screen and that's it. Oh crap.
Later that day I took it apart looking for something broken. Same dead screen or sometimes - even -no white screen. I suspected something with the battery being the heaviest item - or the screen.
So I fiddled around for a while and I started to get the proper display back. The battery was removed several times as I fiddled.
After a while, it just started to behave itself. I inspected everything closely with a jewlers loop. Reassembled it - and its fine now. I tested it plenty, banged it a bit etc.
I don't get it. I suspect maybe a battery vs charging port glitch or ... software>??? I was running 2020-10 sw and yes, the battery shows 3.8 volts.
Since this I downloaded the linux version of QT and upgraded to the latest stable firmware. Runs great.
So, what happened?
Beware of cheap underperforming clones
As of 2023 there are many badly performing clones on the market. V2/3GHz NanoVNA uses parts like ADF4350 and AD8342 which are costly and clones have been cutting costs by using salvaged or reject parts.
See official store and look for V2 Plus4/V2 Plus4 Pro versions only to avoid getting a bad clone. We have stopped selling V2.2 versions since October 2020, so all V2 hardware that are not Plus or Plus4 are not made by us and we can not guarantee performance.

I dropped my VNA v2plus4
maybe the case was pushing against screen??
try it .. switch on with a finger pressed on screen an voila white
screen (on/off and it is back)
a glitch caused by mr lord nelson? yes that is possible (see above test)

It runs with QT on a PC - so its likely the screen. I don't see anything broken or cracked.
Try reseating connector.. If that does not help.. Replace screen
While doing first test.. Look for open solder joints on connector (may cracked
open from drop if not well done)

I ordered a screen but it will take 2-3 weeks to arrive from China.
The new screen received but it does not fix the problem. All i get is - all pixels on - but it works remotely just fine.
Does anyone have a proper schematic? Git hub has bits and pieces on a pdf, really amateurish stuff and no mention of the display hookup that I can find.
Fixed. See https://groups.io/g/NanoVNAV2/topic/i_dropped_my_vna_v2plus4_now/98322149? ( https://groups.io/g/NanoVNAV2/topic/i_dropped_my_vna_v2plus4_now/98322149 )
