Beware of cheap underperforming clones

As of 2023 there are many badly performing clones on the market. V2/3GHz NanoVNA uses parts like ADF4350 and AD8342 which are costly and clones have been cutting costs by using salvaged or reject parts.

See official store and look for V2 Plus4/V2 Plus4 Pro versions only to avoid getting a bad clone. We have stopped selling V2.2 versions since October 2020, so all V2 hardware that are not Plus or Plus4 are not made by us and we can not guarantee performance.

How to use my NanoVNA V2 ? Tutorials step by step #documentation

info 2023/03/12 07:34

Hello everybody,
I received my 4" NanoVNA V2 Plus4 from HCXQS group ( https://www.tindie.com/stores/hcxqsgroup/ ) on tindie.
Of course, it's not easy to use it for a beginner like me.

My query is :

Where can I found some tutorials with step by step process guides ?
For example :
Check the SWR of your antenna
Check your cable
Check your mobile antenna base
I know how to calibrate my device, step by step guides are everywhere.

I don't want a video, but a guide with text and some pictures.
My English is not good enough to listen to a video, but I can still translate text.

Thanks in advance for any answers.

One of your best sources of information is going to be YouTube.   It is unfortunate about the language barrier.   I have seen a few that are in different languages but the highest majority of what I have encountered are in english.

There is book you can buy on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/guide-NanoVNA-Christoph-Schwärzler-ebook/dp/B083BB82G5.   That is is the only NanoVNA specific book I am aware of.    I own a copy.    There is enough similarities between all NanoVNA varieties that text written about one will have substantial applicability to variants not pictured in the book.

Considered reading technical information from the expensive professional VNA companies.   Although the NanoVNA is inexpensive comparably, the examples given in the professional VNA manuals and white papers are mostly relevant and useful.

Hello Chris
NC4BR (USA Callsign) has written "The Missing Manual".
It is worth a look. Text and pictures: as you request
It is linked on the NanoRFE website page

Chris,

There is a book from the RSGB:

https://www.rsgbshop.org/acatalog/NanoVNAs-Explained-2110.html#SID=6

"A practical guide to Nano Vector Network Analysers

"By Mike Richards, G4WNC

"Vector Network Analysers (VNAs) have traditionally been out of reach for most
radio amateurs because of cost but the introduction of low cost NanoVNAs has
changed this. VNAs are incredibly useful in measuring antennas but they do much
more too. However, getting the most out of these devices is not as easy it
could be and that is where NanoVNAs Explained - A practical guide to Nano
Vector Network Analysers is designed to help."

"Part Two (of the book) is packed with practical examples of a wide range of
VNA-based measurements"

Cheers,
David
