There are a few misstatements in the write-up. First, the claim is made
that the antenna feed point, coax at the feed point, coax in the shack all
have to be matched, i.e., 50 ± j0 ohms for maximum power transfer - not
true. Then later in the write-up, he demonstrates how mismatching at all
three interfaces can yield a matched solution in the shack - true. But the
write-up does not treat the efficiency of power transfer in the mismatched
case. Series or shunt stub matching is a common technique which is
illustrated and sound in theory and practice.
So use caution with interpreting the prose in the write-up.
