Beware of cheap underperforming clones

As of 2023 there are many badly performing clones on the market. V2/3GHz NanoVNA uses parts like ADF4350 and AD8342 which are costly and clones have been cutting costs by using salvaged or reject parts.

See official store and look for V2 Plus4/V2 Plus4 Pro versions only to avoid getting a bad clone. We have stopped selling V2.2 versions since October 2020, so all V2 hardware that are not Plus or Plus4 are not made by us and we can not guarantee performance.

Feature Request: is there Firmware for battery status on LCD?

Neal AB6G 2024/11/09 08:30

Does anyone know if there is firmware that places a battery status level indicator on the LCD screen?  And if this firmware is stable?

I have no idea what the V2Plus4 designers were thinking with the LED dot indicators on the back bottom of the case.  When using the VNA, you can't see them.  And there was room for these dot LEDs on the side of the case, and on the top of the case.   There is a charge controller chip inside the V2Plus4.  So there must be status information available.  And there is a LOT of room on the LCD, vertically above and below the CAL status letters on the left side of the screen.
Will NanoRFE update the firmware to include a battery status indicator?   I guess not, since the most recent firmware update is 3+ years ago.

Is there good working third party firmware that has added an on-screen battery status display icon?

Thanks,

Neal

in my v2plus4 and in my saa2n i made 4 additional holes in the side of
the case to see those led also when the unit lays flat on the bench

battery indicator needs an additional wire to be soldered on the battery
and towards the display

the fw from disloard has that function added ... at least on the saa2n
... on the v2plus4 i am not sure (but maybe displord may aswer that detail)

i do NOT use the original fw ... not on the v2plus4 and not on the saa2n
... cause the fw from disloard is much better in my view

these 4 fw versions are the newest from him (with and without sd card
support)

hope that helps

ps you have to add that wire to the display to have the battery
indicator on screen

Thank you  Siegfried Jackstien
One question?
*Whitch firmware is suitable for the  V2 Plus4 (no pro, device by default)? Is it the "V2Plus4_old v1.3.31" one?*
Is there any tutorial to add a SD?
v2 version it works with our V2 Plus4?

Thank you in advance
