Beware of cheap underperforming clones

As of 2022 there are many badly performing clones on the market. V2/3GHz NanoVNA uses parts like ADF4350 and AD8342 which are costly and clones have been cutting costs by using salvaged or reject parts.

See official store and look for V2 Plus4/V2 Plus4 Pro versions only to avoid getting a bad clone. We have stopped selling V2.2 versions since October 2020, so all V2 hardware that are not Plus or Plus4 are not made by us and we can not guarantee performance.

Decided to buy the old v2 S-A-A-2. What are some good sources? The new V4 is awesome, but just too expensive for a college student heh.

So far I managed to see v2 S-A-A-2 on Nooelec, Ebay and Aliexpress.

I know V4 is the safest bet, but it's just too much for me, and I'd also get taxed from the country (we have a $100 customs-free import limit).

So.. Which clone is the best bet?

Parts cost have gone up by a huge amount because the NOS parts on the market have run dry, so V2 clones have switched to salvaged parts and are not as good as they used to be.
I recommend a V1 NanoVNA instead because even though it might not have as much dynamic range in harmonics mode, you are more likely to get consistent performance than what the V2 clones are now.
